Health Screening
Health Screening
The Texas Department of Health requires students to receive periodic screenings for health issues related to problems with Hearing, Vision, and Scoliosis.
Students in pre-k, kindergarten, first, third, fifth and seventh grade are screened to detect problems with hearing and distance vision. For more information click Vision & Hearing Screening Texas.
Per guidelines from the state of Texas, female students are screened for scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the back, in fifth and seventh grades. Male students are screened in eighth grade. For more information, please click Scoliosis Screening Texas.
If you prefer your child is not screened for spinal abnormalities because of religious reasons, please complete this affidavit and submit to your Campus Nurse.
