Fairfield ISD Welcomes the Cox Family for the 2026–2027 School Year

Fairfield ISD is excited to welcome Coleton Cox as principal of Fairfield Junior High and his wife, Sescelli Cox, who will join Fairfield High School as a school counselor.
Coleton Cox earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his graduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He brings 10 years of experience in education and currently serves as an assistant principal at Trinity Springs Middle School in Keller.
In his current role, Cox is known for how present he is on campus each day. Whether in the hallways, visiting classrooms, or spending time with teachers, he stays actively engaged with students and staff and takes a hands-on approach to supporting the campus.
Cox shared this perspective on his approach to leadership.
“Every decision we make will answer the question, ‘What is best for the student?’ I am extremely student-centered, and I want students and staff to feel heard and supported. I will also consistently stress the three A’s: Academics, Arts, and Athletics. I believe all three balance each other and create a well-rounded student.”
Cox said returning to a small town was a big draw.
“I wanted to get back to a small town. I did my teaching and coaching in Krum, Texas, which is a lot like Fairfield. I am most excited about the relationships I will get to build with students, staff and the community and supporting success in any way possible.”
Cox is originally from North Richland Hills and enjoys golf and cooking in his free time.
Sescelli Cox earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her graduate degree from Lamar University. She brings 12 years of experience in education and currently serves as a 7–9 grade counselor at Harwood Junior High in Bedford. This is her fifth year on that campus and eighth year in the district, where she manages a caseload of approximately 550 students.
In addition to her work in schools, Cox has spent the past two years in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Cox said the opportunity to return to a small town community played a big role in their decision to move to Fairfield.
“I want to get back to my small town roots and appreciate a quality of life that big city living just doesn’t allow. I am excited to spend more time at home and get to know the wonderful community.”
Her path into education began unexpectedly but quickly became a passion.
“I originally wanted to work in forensics. After graduation, I realized I needed a master’s degree and couldn’t afford one at the time. I decided to go back to something I knew I was good at and began teaching in my hometown. I quickly fell in love with being a teacher.”
Her experiences in the classroom helped lead her toward counseling.
“Through book studies and time with students, I saw how much kids needed someone to talk to. Sometimes about heavy things, but often about their daily emotions and struggles. That experience led me to counseling.”
Originally from Red Oak, Cox enjoys traveling, reading, spending time outdoors, and crafting. Her parents live just outside of Fairfield, and the family looks forward to being closer to them.
Sescelli and Coleton met while attending Texas A&M University, began dating in 2015, became engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2018, and were married in Estes Park, Colorado in 2019. They have a four year old son, Banks, who will begin Pre-K in Fairfield next school year.
Fairfield ISD is excited to welcome Coleton, Sescelli, and Banks and looks forward to the relationships and leadership they will bring to our schools and community.
