Construction Progress

Bond 2025 is moving forward as construction begins on the new Fairfield High School and improvements continue across the district. Several early projects have been completed, and additional work is underway to enhance district facilities.

New Fairfield High School

Construction of the new Fairfield High School is officially underway.

Fairfield ISD Central Administration has relocated to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Building at 961 E. Commerce Street, clearing the former administration site for construction.

Construction perimeter fencing was installed around the project site on August 15, 2026, and site work began on September 1, 2026.

Groundbreaking Ceremony | September 18, 2026

On September 18, Fairfield ISD celebrated the official groundbreaking of the new Fairfield High School. Students, staff, Board of Trustees members, Facility Advisory Committee and PAC members, community leaders, and project partners gathered to mark this exciting milestone and the beginning of a new chapter for FHS.

As Fairfield ISD Board of Trustees President Kevin Benedict shared during the ceremony, “A groundbreaking is more than just turning dirt. It represents a vision for the future and today we begin turning that vision into a reality.”

The new campus will feature expanded agricultural science facilities, new Career and Technical Education programs, modern classrooms, new band facilities, and a performing arts center.

Designed to honor our alumni, support future graduates, and reflect the community we call home, the new campus will be uniquely Fairfield.

The new Fairfield High School is scheduled to open in August 2028.

Alumni Spotlight | Caitlynn Stone, Class of 2015

From FHS Graduate to Helping Design the Future of FHS

Fairfield High School graduate Caitlynn Stone has returned to her roots in a special way. Now a civil engineer with Kimley-Horn, Caitlynn is part of the project team designing the new Fairfield High School.

Her work includes designing the campus's grading, drainage, water, and sewer infrastructure. After learning that the bond had passed, Caitlynn actively pursued the opportunity to be involved in the project.

For Caitlynn, helping design the new high school is an opportunity to give back to the school and community that helped shape her future.

Current Construction Progress

  • Site work is underway as crews prepare the property for construction of the new campus.
  • Demolition of the former Administration Building is scheduled for the week of September 28, 2026.
  • A detention pond is being excavated on the south side of Oak Street, near the lower practice field, to help manage stormwater runoff.
  • Excavated material, known as spoils, is being used to make improvements to other district facilities.

Eagle Stadium Parking Lot Improvements

Work is underway on the new parking lot on the west side of Eagle Stadium.

Excavated material from the new Fairfield High School construction site is being transported to the parking lot to raise its elevation closer to the back of the stadium.

The west parking lot is scheduled to be completed in spring 2027, just in time for our home track meets.

Fairfield Junior High Practice Field Improvements

Improvements are coming to the Fairfield Junior High practice fields.

Remaining excavated material from the new Fairfield High School construction site will be transported to the junior high practice fields. The two upper practice fields will be leveled to create one large, playable surface, with new sod and irrigation installed.

Once completed, the improved field will provide additional space for Fairfield Junior High athletics and community youth leagues.

Upcoming Construction Milestones

Spring 2027 | Eagle Stadium West Parking Lot Completion

The new west parking lot is scheduled to be completed in time for home track meets.

Fall 2027 | Beam-Signing Event

A beam-signing event is planned, giving students and staff the opportunity to sign their names on a structural beam that will become a permanent part of the new building.

Summer 2028 | Student-Led Community Tours

Student-led community tours are planned before the campus opens, giving families, alumni, and community members the opportunity to explore the new Fairfield High School.

August 2028 | New Fairfield High School Opens

The new Fairfield High School is scheduled to open for the 2028–2029 school year.

Fairfield Elementary School

Bond 2025 improvements at Fairfield Elementary School were deemed substantially complete in August 2026, prior to the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

Completed Projects

  • New secure vestibule at the front entrance to enhance campus security.
  • New front entrance canopy to provide covered access for car rider drop-off and pickup.
  • New east-side canopy to improve the car rider pickup area.

Additional Improvements

Flooring in the remaining areas of the front office will be replaced to match the newly installed flooring. Individual offices will receive new carpet.

Moving Forward

Fairfield ISD will continue sharing construction updates, photos, and project milestones as work progresses across our campuses. We look forward to celebrating the opening of our new high school in August 2028.
