Cosmetology Students Train with National Educator Bernard Ory

Fairfield High School cosmetology students had a hands on learning opportunity on April 13 as they trained with Bernard Ory, a stylist, salon owner, and national educator with OnStage Hair Extensions.
Ory spent the day on campus leading a hands on extension class, where students learned professional techniques for installing OnStage Hair Extensions and gained insight into real world industry practices. The training gave students the chance to work directly with tools and methods used by professionals in the field.
This opportunity grew out of a connection made in September 2024, when Fairfield instructor Dena McQuinn and Class of 2025 senior Reese White attended a training led by Ory. While planning a trip to Texas for salon demonstrations in Dallas, he remembered the Fairfield program and made time to return for a day of instruction with students.
Opportunities like this give students valuable hands on experience and help connect classroom learning to real world careers.
