New Fairfield High School Construction Update

Construction of the new Fairfield High School continues to move forward, with significant progress taking place across the site. From demolition and site preparation to storm drainage improvements and parking lot construction, crews are preparing for the next phases of the project.
The former Fairfield ISD Administration Building has been completely demolished. Crews continue moving dirt and leveling the area as work progresses across the construction site. At the location of the new high school, crews are moisture-conditioning the building pad. This process involves adjusting the soil's moisture content to achieve proper compaction and create a stable foundation for construction.
Storm drainage improvements are also underway. On October 17, crews installed a storm drain beneath Eagle Crossing. Additional drainage pipes are currently being installed in the west parking lot area to help manage stormwater runoff.
The Fairfield Junior High practice fields have been leveled, with additional work planned following the conclusion of football season. A few areas of dirt remain around electrical poles located within the new high school construction area. These poles must remain in place to provide electricity to the stadium concession stand through the final home football game on November 5.
Once the football season concludes, electricity to the poles can be disconnected, allowing crews to remove them and relocate the remaining dirt to the FJH practice fields. Irrigation and sod installation will follow to complete the fields.
Construction on the west parking lot will also enter its final phase after football season. The goal is to have the parking lot completed and ready for use when Fairfield hosts its first home track meets in early March 2027.
Aerial photographs taken this week provide a look at the progress across the construction site and the transformation already underway.
The new Fairfield High School remains scheduled to open in August 2028, marking an exciting new chapter for Fairfield ISD and the community.
